Stephen J. Toner, MBA, Broker Advisor, is a senior level commercial real estate broker with a specialty in Florida land for development, land for investment and ranch land. With land for development, he works with residential builders, developers, and retail corporate site selection managers on sites in the growing area of Tampa Bay and the south west coast counties of Florida. He works with owners of ranch lands and land for hunting and recreation throughout west and central Florida; often good candidates for conservation easement and 1031 Exchange strategies. Since joining SRE in June of 2015 Steve has put over $22 million under contract and sales.
For land investors, local and international, Steve is working with both buyers and sellers. For international clients often involved in trade, he presents the advantages of owning (rather than leasing) land in Tampa Bay for office, warehouse and manufacturing facilities, to take advantage of the Free Trade Zone (FTZ) status now available nearly anywhere (appropriately zoned) in west central Florida. He works with clients in a number of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) countries which provide significant Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the Tampa Bay area real estate.
Steve has contributed to his community and profession as a current member of FGCAR and ICSC, and prior as the Florida RLI Marketing Committee Chair, Committee Member of Tampa Bay Builders Association; Founding Chair and President of the Canadian American Business Council (trade and investment group); and as Mayor and Councilman of his home town. He is also a member in the 1st US Volunteer Cavalry Regiment - Rough Riders, Inc., a charity group in Tampa Bay, Florida.
Prior to working with Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Real Estate, Steve had his own brokerage and marketing firm; served as Vice President International of a national Real Estate Franchise; served as Director of Business Development for a national engineering firm, and as Director of Development and Alumni at his University.
Steve earned his MBA at Northern Kentucky University (NKU), and his MPA at the University of Cincinnati. His BA undergraduate work was completed at the University of Kentucky and NKU. He holds a Florida Real Estate Broker's License and has completed most courses in the NAR Programs toward the CCIM and ALC designations.
