Butch and Kathy King have been the proprietors at Wildman Lodge since 1996. In 1997, they flew in 50 tons of building materials, one Beaver load at a time, taking Wildman from a small hunting camp to an international sportsmen destination. They added as specious dining room, two guest cabins, a guide bunk house, ten bathrooms with showers and a state of the art hydronic-glycol heating system which serves the entire complex with safe and efficient hotwater baseboard heat. In 1012 came the engineered wastewater and filtered drinking water systems. Then they upgraded to Yamaha 4-stroke motors for the jet boats, UL approved double-wall tanks for Avgas, Diesel and unleaded fuels and made big runway improvements to handle the bigger, faster twin-engine turbo-prop aircraft. In 2018 a beautiful kitchen addition was completed making Wildman one of the most modern and efficient lodges in Alaska. The Wildman dining room seats 16 guests. There are also two pub tables and a guide table which seats eight. The new kitchen has a triple wash sink with overhead sprayer, the second island has a hand wash sink and vegetable sink. The 48 inch Wolf Range does the heavy lifting, while a new electric wall oven with microwave is in the bake station. Plenty of cabinet and counter space, includes a Hobart dish sanitizer, Wildman logo Bavarian china set for 24 , and ample cookware.
