Of the 1,165,000 bushels of storage at the farm, 1,040,000 of the storage was built new in 2015. The farm also has an additional 335,000 bushels of storage in the town of Midland, SD. The private elevator in Midland also has a rail siding that allows the grain produced on the farm to be shipped virtually anywhere in the world. Other improvements on the farm include a 100' X 600' machine shed with a heated shop and a wash bay. The ranch style house on the farm has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large kitchen area and a large living room area. There are several other usable Quonset buildings at the headquarters and on the farm that can be used for machine or grain storage. The farm is currently leased to 1 farm operators. The lease details are available upon request. Cropping history on the farm includes winter & spring wheat, corn, sunflowers & milo. Other crops grown in the area include millet, dry peas, oats and hay. There are many hunting opportunities on the farm. The farm has a good population of pheasants, white tail deer, mule deer and pronghorn antelope. The farm also has some waterfowl traffic in the fall. The farm is gently rolling to rolling as you would expect in western South Dakota. The predominate soil types are Pierre Clay, Opal-Promise Clays, Ottumwa-Lakoma Silty Clays and Promise Clay. The farm is serviced by the West-Central Rural Electric Co-Op and has 480 Volt 3-phase electric service to the headquarters. The farm is also serviced by the West River Lyman Jones water district.
