Catahoula Lake Lodge

Located on the southern shores of Catahoula Lake is one of only two Lodges overlooking this historically significant body of water. Catahoula Lake was formed by a geological event, possibly seismic, that caused the land to sink and fill with water from Little River, leading to a unique cycle of flooding and drying which has promoted food and nutriunt sources for migrating waterfowl and other wildlife. Today the lake is managed for waterfowl habitat using control structures to manage water levels for plant growth like chufa, a key food source for ducks.

While the western shores are identified as private much of the eastern shoreline connects to the Dewey Willis WMA and the Catahoula NWR allowing for continued public hunting, fishing, bird watching, and other recreational opportunities.

The Catahoula Lake Lodge is an elevated cabin style lodge with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The open area great room and kitchen provide family and guests with ample room to relax and enjoy the beautiful views of Catahoula Lake and the abundant waterfowl that utilize this rich environment, particularly in winter during the waterfowl migration, but also year round flights of neotropical migratory birds like Tanager’s, Warblers, Buntings, and more.

Predatory birds such as Hawks, Eagles, and Owls are also common sights around this richly diverse habitat making this location a birdwatcher’s paradise. The Lodge sits at the dead end of Stock Landing Road with a public boat launch available for easy access to the Lake. Situated on 25.+ acres of property allows ample room for expanding facilities, gardening, or further development of migratory bird and pollinator habitats to attract birds, butterflys, and bees.

The Lodge has been used in the past for personal living space as well as a Guide Lodge for duck hunters on Catahoula Lake. Whatever your dreams are for this unique property the sky is the limit for your enjoyment and opportunity.
