This ranch hosts good populations of white-tailed deer, waterfowl, and pheasants. The surrounding area sees some of the best elk hunting in Montana. Seemingly endless acres of nearby National Forest provide outstanding big game hunting for deer, elk, antelope, and moose. The Gravelly and Snowcrest Ranges to the southeast are well known for the numbers and trophy quality of elk. The Tobacco Root Mountains to the north also host excellent elk hunting, as do the Pioneer and Highland Mountains to the West. There is limited upland bird hunting for Hungarian partridge, as well as sage grouse, in the stunning Upper Ruby Valley as well.

The vast mountain ranges, beautiful meadows and streams, and lush valleys offer many recreational pursuits, including horseback riding, hiking, backpacking, bird watching, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, and just relaxing and enjoying the scenery. Take a scenic drive through the Gravelly Range or the Centennial Valley. The high mountain lakes of the Tobacco Root Mountains offer a combination of hiking and fishing. Within about 2 hours of the Ruby Valley, you can ski and snowboard Discovery Ski Area, Maverick Ski Resort, and Lost Trail Ski Area. Big Sky Resort is less than three hours from the property, and Bridger Bowl Ski Area is less than two hours away.
