What Is the Co-op Land Summit?

Presented by the Land Broker Co-op in partnership with Capital Farm Credit, the Land Summit is an annual, in-person event that brings land professionals, landowners, lenders, industry experts, and other land professionals together for two days of education, discussion, and networking. It is focused specifically on rural land and also serves as the centerpiece of National Land Investment Month, an initiative dedicated to providing useful land information and land resources throughout the month of October each year.

Education Focused on the Land Market

Land is a specialized asset, and understanding it requires expertise that extends well beyond a traditional real estate transaction. Financing, agricultural conditions, taxes, water, infrastructure, development, technology, government policy, and economic trends can all influence how land is valued, marketed, purchased, and managed.

The Land Summit brings experts from across these disciplines together in one place.

The 2026 Land Summit, held October 1–2 at Capital Farm Credit headquarters in College Station, Texas, featured educational sessions covering the rural land market, economic and land-value trends, agricultural issues, tax strategies, legal developments, data-center development, artificial intelligence, mapping, property intelligence, land preservation, and the future of the land business.

The goal is straightforward: provide attendees with information they can actually use.

One of the defining features of the Land Summit is the range of perspectives represented. Speakers and participants come from rural real estate, agricultural lending, economics, law, agriculture, technology, public policy, tax and investment planning, and other sectors connected to land ownership and transactions. For landowners and investors, it provides an opportunity to better understand the forces affecting their property and the decisions they may face in the years ahead.

The Land Summit isn’t only about understanding today’s market. A major part of the event is looking ahead.

The 2026 program reflected just how quickly the land industry is changing. Sessions examined the growth of data centers and industrial development, emerging agricultural challenges, AI-powered mapping and property analysis, evolving tax strategies, and broader economic and regulatory trends. These topics have real implications for land values, transactions, investment decisions, and the way land professionals serve their clients.

Education is an important part of the Land Summit, but so is connection.

Networking breakfasts, lunches, breaks, receptions, and audience Q&A sessions are incorporated throughout the event, giving attendees opportunities to meet professionals and continue conversations outside of the formal presentations. Those relationships are particularly valuable in an industry where transactions frequently require expertise from multiple disciplines. The result is an event designed not simply for attendees to sit and listen, but to exchange ideas, ask questions, make connections, and learn from one another.

The Land Summit is the in-person centerpiece of National Land Investment Month, which the Land Broker Co-op created to expand access to education about land ownership and investment.

Over the years, National Land Investment Month has included webinars, educational articles, presentations, and other resources featuring organizations and land experts. Previous programming has addressed everything from land-market trends and financing to GIS mapping, eminent domain, taxation, carbon programs, property management, and emerging technology. The Land Summit takes that mission a step further by bringing the land community together in person.

Ultimately, the Land Summit is about creating a forum specifically for land. It brings together professionals who work with land every day, experts who understand the forces affecting it, and owners and investors who have a direct stake in its future.
