Located on the East Branch of the Penobscot River in T4 & T5 R8, year round Bowlin Cabins offers everything an outdoor enthusiast could ask for. The cabins are located on about 28 acres with 1462’ of river frontage plus a separate 236 acre parcel down the road offering over 6400’ of river frontage. The East Branch has some of the finest fly fishing in Maine with naturally reproducing brook trout, salmon and small mouth bass. Hundreds of lakes, streams and ponds make up the watershed of the area. Traditional Maine deer hunting along this area of the Penobscot River is an experience you will never forget. Bowlin is adjacent to the thousands of acres of the Katahdin Woods & Water National Monument protected lands, which gives you great deer hunting opportunities on huge bucks. For the serious upland bird hunter, Bowlin Lodge & Cabins offers a grouse hunter's paradise, miles of old logging roads with new growth forest, endless access to prime grouse and woodcock hunting as well. A member of the of the Ruffed Grouse Society it proudly supports their conservation and management goals. Bear hunts over bait sites cover over 45 square miles. Bear hunting from stands and ground blinds positioned for the firearm or bow enthusiast. The early morning mist is clearing from a bog and your guide lets loose with a lovesick cow call. Moments later the woods come alive as trees shake, and your bull moose enters the clearing…when things start to happen, they happen fast in the great North Woods of Maine! Bowlin was constructed from 1895-2018 consisting of 14 cabins including the lodge, 13 outbuildings, a total of 23 bedrooms with 16 full bathrooms plus three of the structures have basements. An all-weather 5 Stand pavilion overlooks a scenic natural hollow where traps are set to mirror typical hunting shots found in Bowlin covers. Experience a canoe or kayak trip in the very heart of the North Woods of Maine along the East Branch of the Penobscot River. The East Branch is one of Maine's truly classic river trips! Stay in the woods in a cabin directly on the North ITS-85 snowmobiling. The kitchen will fix you breakfast, lunch and take your reservation for dinner.
