Description

The Strawberry River Ranch located in Duchesne County encompasses 4,884 acres of some of the most beautiful river land in Utah. It reaches extensively along the Strawberry River between Starvation Reservoir and the Strawberry Pinnacles. Roughly 3,600 acres of the ranch contains a large portion of Indian Canyon to the east of the main ranch.

There are exceptional recreational hunting opportunities in abundance including big game, upland, and waterfowl. Included with the property are several elk landowner tags. There is an abundance of turkey, quail, dove, migratory geese and duck. The Strawberry River has historically been considered a world-class trout water with the 16-mile section above the ranch--the tail water of Strawberry Reservoir-- being managed as a blue-ribbon trout habitat by the Nature Conservancy and the State of Utah. This section was previously damaged by the Dollar Ridge fire of 2018. Since then, extensive efforts have been made by the state; it is now recovering well and restoring status as a world-class fishery.

The 31/2 miles of river running through the ranch does not have public access. The ranch section of the river has historically held a healthy population of large brown trout, Rainbow trout, and Colorado River Cutthroat. The Ranch is conveniently located between Strawberry Reservoir-- considered to be one of the top-producing lake fisheries in the state-- and Starvation Reservoir, another excellent fishery. The Ranch is a 1-hour drive time I-40 from Heber Valley which is currently one of the fastest growing municipalities in the country. 100 ac/ ft of water included.

UPDATE: This section of strawberry river has been fishing very well. This three and a half miles stretch had not been fished for decades and is now proving to be exceptional water with abundant, healthy brown trout and an occasional native Cutthroat.

(Qualified buyers are invited to fish the ranch for a day along with their preferred guide.)
