Prior to joining American Forest Management in 2024, she worked as a wildlife biologist for Texas Parks and Wildlife for 2 years and then for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources for almost 5 years, focusing on habitat management and technical guidance for private landowners. Throughout her career, she has worked with some of the largest ranches and plantations in their respective states, along with some unique and biologically diverse properties.
Emily grew up in Summerton, SC. As the daughter of a forester who took her hunting and fishing since she was young, the outdoors has always been her passion. Emily earned her undergraduate degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology from Clemson University (’11), her M.S. at the University of Georgia (’13) in Forest Resources, and lastly her Ph.D. in Wildlife Science from Texas A&M University-Kingsville (‘19). Emily currently lives in Summerton, SC, with her cocker spaniel, Winston. In her free time, she enjoys hunting, fishing, gardening, and leading group fitness classes.
