Buying and selling any sort of property is a significant endeavor, but when it comes to dealing with land, the stakes are taken to a whole new level. Allow me to introduce myself – I am Koby Rickertsen, an accredited Land Consultant, proud member of the Realtors Land Institute, and a licensed Multi-State Land Broker with credentials spanning across Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
My journey is deeply rooted in the world of farmland, having spent my formative years on the family farm located in the heart of Lincoln and Dawson Counties in Nebraska. My initiation into the realm of agriculture can be traced back to my very first college class, an agronomy course that my father took my brother, two cousins, and me to when none of us were even 10 years old. Little did I know that those early days of scouting fields and providing invaluable insights would lay the foundation for my future career. Back then, I was an "agronomist" before it was considered cool, and I was compensated with a modest $1.00 per hour for the sweat and toil we put in.
Following my high school graduation, uncertain about the direction my life should take, I made a life-changing decision to serve our great nation for 13 years as part of the US Navy Submarine Force. During this period, I not only dedicated myself to my country but also had the privilege of meeting my beautiful wife. Together, we embarked on the journey of building a life together, and eventually, we decided to return to my Nebraska roots, where we raised our two wonderful children.
Throughout my professional journey, the allure of agriculture has never ceased to captivate me. It was this deep-rooted passion that inspired my wife and me to establish RE/MAX Home, Farm & Ranch. As a producer, investor, and property owner, I was driven by the belief that we could enhance the buyer and seller experience when it came to real estate transactions. My enduring love for the land and unwavering commitment to serving landowners led me to specialize in the field of real estate, particularly in the realm of land.
In addition to my roles as an accredited Land Consultant and a member of the Realtors Land Institute, I am also the host of the American Land Seller Podcast, where I share insights, expertise, and stories related to the fascinating world of land transactions.
Buying and selling property is always a significant decision, but when it comes to land, the stakes and the opportunities run deeper. I’m Koby Rickertsen, Founding Partner, CEO, and Managing Broker of Ironhorse Land Company, a multi-state brokerage specializing in farm, ranch, recreational, and development land.
I’m a Nebraska native with deep agricultural roots, raised working on my family’s farm in Lincoln and Dawson Counties. My connection to land started early, from agronomy classes before I was ten years old to scouting fields for a dollar an hour. That hands-on upbringing, combined with 13 years in the U.S. Navy Submarine Force, shaped my work ethic, discipline, and respect for the people who earn their living from the land.
Over the years, I’ve built, led, and sold multiple successful businesses, including RE/MAX Home, Farm & Ranch. Today, through Ironhorse Land Company, I lead a team of elite land professionals united by a single mission, helping landowners, investors, and buyers make informed decisions and build lasting legacies.
As an Accredited Land Consultant (ALC), Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES), and proud member of the REALTORS® Land Institute, I bring practical expertise, straight talk, and integrity to every transaction. I am licensed across Arkansas, Alabama, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
Whether you are buying your first parcel, selling a generational family farm, or evaluating land investment opportunities across the Midwest and Great Plains, my objective is simple, to ensure every acre you own, buy, or sell reaches its full potential.
