History The surrounding area is steeped in history and lore of the cowboys and was historically a favored hunting and camping ground of Cheyenne, Sioux, Pawnee and Arapahoe Indians.

Nearby Chappell was platted in 1884 when the Union Pacific Railroad extended its line to the area, establishing a station that became the nucleus of the town. The town was named after Charles Henry Chappell, a railroad official responsible for building the train depot. The first permanent resident and station agent was John O’Neil, who also taught the first school in the depot, marking the beginning of formal education in what is now Deuel County.

The property is approximately 5 1/2 hours west of Omaha, 2 hours east of Cheyenne, WY, 2 1/2 hours northeast of Denver, CO and less than 30 minutes from Sidney.

The Billy G. Ray Field Airport is directly north across Interstate I-80 from the property.  This is a publicly owned and open to the public 4000 ft long asphalt runway in good condition.
