Some history of the area, prior to becomimg known as Indian Territory,this region supported diverse indigenous societies with expert hunters, fur traders, farmers with both nomadic and semi nomadic tribes.The area was explored by Francisco Coronado and French traders establishing strong trade routes along the Red River and srrounding territory. Later,in the 19th century, the area became part of Indian Territory due to the numerous tribes settling in region. In the 1940'sin the cave on the property. The land was formed into a cattle ranch more than 50 years ago and continues to operate as a successful cattle operation today .
