He holds lifetime memberships with both organizations and the Texas Skeet Shooters Association.
He has hunted upland game birds and waterfowl across the US, Mexico, and Argentina. His fondest boyhood memories are hunting quail, doves, ducks, and small game animals in East Texas. His love of the great outdoors and a desire to conserve wildlife habitat for future generations is why he supports the National Wild Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, and Delta Waterfowl through membership.
Carroll is also a Licensed Amateur Radio Operator holding a General Class License with call sign N5BHZ. In the past, Carroll participated in the National Weather Service SKYWARN Storm Spotter Program in East Texas.
Serving and helping others is valued and practiced by Carroll in the communities of Tyler and Lindale. These small cities in East Texas reap the benefit of his contribution of time and talent through leadership and financial support in local organizations, including the Tyler Chamber of Commerce, Lindale Chamber of Commerce, Tyler Junior College Foundation and President’s Circle, Lindale High School, People Attempting To Help (PATH) and First Presbyterian Church of Tyler.
