Timbered draws, healthy sagebrush habitat, and lush hayfields allow wildlife to find refuge and food supply in abundance. Mule Deer, Antelope, and upland game birds thrive on the ranch and throughout the area. Migrating elk pass through and occasionally and have been spotted on the ranch in recent years. Low hunting pressure in the area, moderate elevations, and well-blocked large privately owned neighboring ranches are contributing factors to the abundance and quality of game animals the region is known for.

The ranch is bisected east and west by Highway 14-16 allowing convenient access across the ranch and into both Sheridan and Gillette. Ivy Creek Road, a well-improved gravel county road runs north and south through the northern portion of the ranch. The ranch also has many miles of improved interior ranch roads allowing easy movement of trucks, trailers, and equipment to the pastures and hay meadows.
